The things to keep in mind when you are operating a business that has a Texas alcohol permit include:

  • Age Requirements – You cannot sell alcohol to anyone under 21 years old.
  • Sole Source Alcohol – Your restaurant or another establishment cannot sell alcohol from just one producer.
  • No Food Trucks – If you have a food truck, you cannot sell alcohol.
  • Dry on Certain Days – Your venue is not permitted to sell alcohol on Thanksgiving, New Year’s, or Christmas Day.

Time of Day Limits – You can sell alcohol on Sunday before noon if it ss paired with a meal. You cannot sell any beverage anywhere or anytime on Sunday if it is more than 17% alcohol. Your establishment can sell beer and wine from 7 a.m. until midnight Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday hours are from noon until midnight. Only liquor stores are allowed to sell distilled spirits.
